I am going to write an article about the types of platforms that online writers use for their writings/articles/stories. This is a research question to writers on their experiences with any online platform/app (the good, the bad, the ugly). What platform do you use? Would you recommend them? What do you like or dislike about them?
I write on Medium and just started Substack. Medium is great for articles. You can put "stories" behind the paywall, but "paying members" are the only ones that can read them. I didn't make any money -- just a few cents -- so I moved my stories out of the paywall and my view count went up. If you are an avid writer of articles, and have a strong following, then this would work for you. JUST BE CAREFUL! Write your articles/stories on a word processor (like Word) and copy over to Medium as they don't have a "undo" feature. I lost a lot of work because of that issue.
